I have about three best friends in high school, and I really don’t need anymore. I tell these three everything that ever happens to me. Beth, Rachel and Kelsey are basically my rocks and they know that and I’m just like that to them…

“so what’d you do last night?” Rachel asked everyone the mutual question as we all stood around my mini cooper after school

“uh…hung out up here” I told her

“wait why?” Rachel asked then I awkwardly looked at Kelsey

“no…no did you really come up here?” Kelsey asked me

“I had to” I told her simply

“no…spence no you didn’t” she told me

“what’s going on? I’m so confused” Beth said

“Ashley wrote Spence this ‘whatever romantic’ letter admitting that she treated her like shit, but she wants another chance…” Kelsey explained

“you make it seem so bad…it’s really not” I told her

“I’d agree with you if she didn’t nearly break your heart”

“Kels, seriously it was over a year ago and I’m over it…and I really think Ashley’s different” I told her

“she still kiss good?” Rachel asked me

“Chel…” I told her giving her ‘the look’

“oh come on…I know you guys hooked up, you can never be alone without even getting a solid kiss in there” she told me

“yeah she’s still a good kisser” I told her

“gah I’m in love” Beth said “you guys were totally prime entertainment frosh year”

“too bad she’s dating Kristin” Kelsey told me

“it was just a kiss Kels” I told her

“with Ashley…” she replied “…it’s never just a kiss with her” she added

“look you’re making a big deal out of nothing and I don’t want to deal with it right now” I said to her shutting my trunk then I got into my car and drove away from the three of them and my phone rang “hello?” I asked answering it not in a good mood

“uh…hey?” Ashley replied

“what do you want?” I asked her

“what’s wrong?” she asked me

“nothing.” I told her

“okay I don’t believe you…” she told me “…you want to come over?” she asked

“uh yeah…” I told her “are you home?”

“I will be in like five minutes” she told me

“yeah I’ll be over” I told her

“okay…bye” she said then she hung up the phone and I drove to her house and her car was already in the driveway so I got out of my car and went to the front door and rang the doorbell then she answered the front door “hey” she said smiling at me and I didn’t respond I just walked in, took off my shoes and followed her up to her room and she shut the door behind us

“are you parents home?” I asked her

“are they ever home?” she replied

“good point” I told her then I sat on the couch in her room and she turned her Ipod down “who is this?” I asked her

“uh Augustana…it’s their new CD…” she told me

“I like it…a lot actually” I told her

“that’s because I listen to good music” she replied sitting on the other end of the couch “so…you came here to vent…tell me what’s wrong”

“Kelsey’s just being so stupid…” I told her

“wait you and Kelsey are fighting? I thought you were inseparable” she told me

“it’s not even that we’re fighting…she’s just being really complicated about you and Kristin when she doesn’t need to be because it’s none of her business” I explained

“oh…” she replied simply

“and all we did the other night was kiss…I mean it was a kiss it’s not like we had sex in my car or anything…” I told her

“this is true…” she replied “…hey I uh, I need to tell you something…” she told me

“okay?” I replied confused not knowing what she could say

“you remember homecoming?” she asked me

“uh yeah and how you went with Allison? Gross…she’s such a chode” I told her and she didn’t say anything she just sort of sat there not looking at me “ash…oh you didn’t…” I said starting to understand what she was going to tell me

“we were just in the moment I guess…” she told me

“that’s disgusting…” I told her “…where did you hook up?” I asked

“my car…” she told me

“classy…” I told her

“look you don’t have to be such a bitch about it…it didn’t mean anything it was just sex…”

“and it was her first time which would explain why she leaves you creepy comments on your Facebook all the time…” I told her

“you creep on my facebook?” she asked me grinning

“no, Beth does and tells me…” I said “…but seriously…in your car?”

“look I just thought I’d tell you…” she said “…I didn’t think you’d cunt punt me for it or anything” she told me and I couldn’t help but laugh a little at her comment and she smiled at me then my phone buzzed

[hey 2moro nite?] Kristin texted me

[uh yeah] I sent back quickly

“Kristin?” Ashley asked me

“yeah…” I told her not thinking it was a big deal

“…so is she like…a good girlfriend?” she asked me

“I guess…” I replied “…she’s cute and funny” I told her

“just like you” she said totally flirting with me “you know we uh…we play Mags in basketball for our home opener in two weeks..” she told me

“I know…Kristin told me…”

“so are you going to come?”  she asked

“probably…” I responded

“to see me or Kristin?” she asked

“I guess we’ll have to wait and see…” I replied smiling at her

“is that code for something that I’m not picking up on?” she asked me smiling and I just looked at her and she leaned in kissing me and letting it linger then she pulled away “did I read that right?”

“yeah…” I told her pulling her into another kiss and she straddled my waist and my hands traveled her back then she pulled her shirt over her head and I kissed her chest then she got off of me “wait…” I told her “where are you going?”

“my bed…” she said taking my hand and I pushed her onto her bed and straddled her waist and I pulled my shirt over my head and she started to unbutton my skirt and she let it fall to the ground and then I pulled her sweat pants off of her

“holy shit…” I gasped out of breath as I collapsed next to Spencer then I kissed her neck and she rolled over looking at me “…that was…”

“amazing?” she asked me

“mhmm…” I replied

“hey since we’re in bed together…I need to get something out…” she told me

“please tell me you have words to say because after that sex…I’m exhausted” I replied and she laughed and kissed me quickly then I got up on my elbows to listen to her “what’d you need to say?” I asked

“I’m sorry…” she told me “…for being so controlling and for being such a nightmare…” she added

“spence if you were a nightmare I wouldn’t have dated you and I wouldn’t be trying to win you back…” I told her “…you know I love you”

“I know…” she replied then I kissed her and laid back down “…don’t be sorry for anything”

“you’ve just been so good to me and…” she started

“no…no I definitely haven’t been good to you, spence I was so rude to you…”

“but from what I can tell you’ve changed…” she told me

“yeah, I hope so” I told her then she curled up next to me in bed

“can we take a nap?” she asked me

“yeah” I replied wrapping my arms around her then I kissed the top of her head and she moved away from me facing me and I turned to face her “will you be here when I wake up?”

“yeah” she said rubbing her nose against mine and I smiled then we both fell asleep in my bed just like we always used to

About two hours later we woke up…well I woke up, and Spencer was still sleeping. So, I decided to just turn over and cuddle with her and soon enough I fell back asleep with her until her phone started to ring “ugh get your phone” I groaned

“no” she mumbled into the pillow “it’ll stop” she said then it just kept ringing over and over again

“get the phone” I demanded

“ughhhhh” she groaned getting her phone “hello?...no….you just left?....oh, yeah okay….uh yeah I thought we were going together tomorrow night….okay….well I was just checking….okay….yeah, bye” she said then she hung up the phone
