"Excuse me," Kyla asked the grey haired woman at the customer service area of Barnes and Nobles, "do you have books on camping?" I can't believe we're at a bookstore on how to camp, we could've just Googled it.
"Ky, is this really necessary to be here?" I asked with my arms folded. I could be with Spencer right now.
"This is our first time camping...We need to be prepared." Kyla explained.
"You mean, you need to be prepared. I'm just gonna go with the flow." The grey haired lady returned with a few books and handed them to Kyla. We thanked her and headed to the moderately busy check out line. "You're seriously going to read all these books? Are there even pictures in them?" Who doesn’t like books with pictures in them? I asked Kyla while we were walking back to the car.
"You're being so sassy right now. Is it that time of the month?" She started the engine and we began our journey home.
"No, I'm sorry. Mom called me today and she was being extra bitchy. You just received my irritation due to our mother." I do take my irritations out on Kyla sometimes, but she knows I love her to pieces.
"I got a missed call from her earlier, totally forgot to call her back. What'd she want anyway?" We were stopped at a red light and the guys in the silver Mercedes next to us tried to get our attention. Ew, gross.
“She’s coming in a couple days and she just wanted to know if we were still alive.” Kyla’s speeding in a 25 mph zone. My hair is going to be so wild.
“Oh lovely.” I hear the sarcasm in Kyla’s tone. Why was our mom coming home anyway? What could she possibly want?
