It’s been a week since Paula’s threat. Meaning it’s been a week since I’ve seen or talked to Spencer. Either Paula’s been keeping Spencer locked up in their basement or Spencer is avoiding me. I stay up all hours of the night hoping to see her sneak out but nothing. I’m beyond frustrated. I have three weeks to take down Shadow Labs, my girlfriend…friend….lover….whatever we are to each other is staying away from me via her mommy’s order, and Jesse is practically breathing down my neck. Sighing I roll out of bed and walk up to my window. I’m starting to think I’ve bit off more than I can chew. I’m the best agent Jesse has but with my powers I can’t take on an army. I have Shadow Labs layout and I’ve done recon on the place but there are people guarding the entrance. I can only pray that they don’t have abilities. I need to start at the beginning if I’m going to be able to do this. I walk back to my bed and slide under the covers. I grip my pillow and pull it close. I’ve been sleeping alone for years, who would’ve thought lying next to a gorgeous girl would make me seek some comfort from a pillow. As I start to succumb to sleep I can’t help but think about something chilling. How did Paula know that the mugger she sent after me wouldn’t kill her daughter also? Furthermore how did he know where I’d be?

I woke up around 10 in the morning and immediately started looking over the blueprint to Shadow Labs. I can’t find an entry point. There’s an ID check in station. Camera’s practically catching every viewpoint, plus guards on the inside. I can short out the cameras on the outside but that’s got to alert them that something’s not right. If I do manage to get inside I’ll have to navigate to where their keeping the serum and the prisoners aka test subjects. Jesse wants them alive, I get that but I’m just looking to destroy…not rescue.

“Still working on that I see.” Max sets a cup of coffee next to my scattered documents.  I nod slightly while taking a sip, my eyes never leaving the blueprint. “Do you have a plan yet?” she sits down next to me on the couch.

“No not yet. This place is like a fortress.” Then again if I had a secret experimental headquarter that houses and tortures people I’d make it pretty impenetrable also. Paula obviously knows what she’s doing.

“How about I set fire to a part of the building? You know, cause a distraction.” Max picks up the layout of the building and points to a blind spot on the roof. “We get in through here and hopefully drop into an office or something and set it ablaze.” I shake my head at her sardonic grin.

“We’d have to expertly navigate through the vents and I doubt we could do that quietly. Though setting of the sprinklers would make all the people inside run out but it’s just not subtle.” She mutters something under her breath. “What?”

“Our objective is to kill and destroy, tell me how subtle fits into that.” I sigh and run my hands through my hair.

“Jesse wants the test subjects alive to see if they can give us any information.” I lean back against the couch and close my eyes.
