My whole body was suddenly covered in goosebumps, so I placed my hand on her cheek and pulled her against my lips. I kissed her so lightly at first. I didn’t want to scare her, but she started kissing me deeper and longer. I was still in slight shock, but luckily my body was working really well on autopilot. Never breaking away from the kiss I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her over to my side of the car and onto my lap. Her chest was pressed against mine and I could tell she was breathing just as hard as I was. I slowed the kiss down so our hearts wouldn’t beat out of our chests. It was now a long, slow, soft kiss that neither of us wanted to break away from. She eventually pulled away and placed her head on my shoulder. We held hands and didn’t speak. We were just enjoying being so close to each other. Spencer was the first to break the silence.
Spencer: “I totally spaced out on the situation, but are you still with your girlfriend?”
Ashley: “Oh, no. We broke up a few days ago. You wouldn’t think I would cheat would you?”
Spencer: “I just met you. I don’t know these things unless I ask.”
Ashley: “That is true. Well, you can ask me anything you want.”
Spencer: “I’ll hold you to that.”
And she nuzzled into my neck and started sleeping. Had it not been for the fact that we were still parked on the side of the road I would have never woken her. I started running my fingers through her hair and kissing her forehead. Her eyes slowly opened and she smiled up at me.
Ashley: “Hello, beautiful."
Spencer: “Hey… Oh crap. What time is it?”
Spencer started frantically searching for her phone. She was way too adorable when she was freaking out.
Ashley: “Relax. You weren’t sleeping long. Even though it isn’t a highly traveled street it’s still not the best place to sleep for the night."
We both laughed and she climbed back to her side of the car. I rested my head on the steering wheel and stared at her.
Spencer: “What?” *giggles*
Ashley: “Nothing. I just… I thought with the way you were acting the other day. I didn’t know you were into girls. You seemed kind of homophobic.”
Spencer: “Yeah, sorry about that. I never knew any gay people before. I never even thought about it before. I know my family wouldn’t like it. I’m just confused. Am I gay now?”
Ashley: “You don’t have to figure it out right now.”
Spencer: “I’ve never even been attracted to girls before I met you. That’s why I started freaking out. Once I realized you were gay I started thinking about it and I got really confused and wanted to be alone to process it all.”
Ashley: “Like I said.
