“Spence...why didn't you tell me?” I said.
“I already told you, It would have made it harder to leave” she said with sadness in her voice.
I now understood why she always acted so weird around my 'dates' if that's even what you'd call them. They were more like...conquests if you will.
Anyway, back to the point. She always acted angry and uncomfortable whenever they were around.
Flashback
Mackenzie and I were in my room fooling around when the door flies open and Spencer comes in bawling her eyes out.
Oh I suppose your wondering who Mackenzie is...just another conquest.
“Ash I need to...” she stopped mid-sentence when she saw us.
“Sorry, I'll leave” she said crying even harder then when she walked in.
I didn't understand why but I didn't have time to figure it out because she was already running down the stairs trying to get out as fast us humanly possible.
“We'll finish this another time” I said to Mackenzie as I got dressed.
I ran out the door and yelled for Spencer but she was already down the street.
I got in my car and as I got near I rolled down the passenger window and tried talking to her.
“Spence...what's wrong?” I asked concerned.
“Nothing, just go back to your 'date' she said angrily.
Yes, she put quotes around date. She knew how I was.
“No” I said, “Not until you tell me what's wrong” I finished.
“Ugh...fine” she said in an angry tone and got in the car.
The drive was silent for a while until I spoke up.
“What happened?” I asked.
“I broke up with Aiden” she said.
She and Aiden had been dating since a little after she moved here so this was big considering it was now right before senior prom.
“Oh my god, are you okay?” I asked even though I already knew the answer.
“Yeah, I'm fine....at least with the break-up” she said trying to stop crying. I guess I didn't know the answer.
“What do you mean at least with the break-up?” I asked confused at her statement.
“I mean I wasn't crying about the break-up” she paused and waited for me to understand.
“Go on” I said.
“I was crying because of what I came to tell you after the break-up.
