"You guys still don't have power?" The brunette asked with sympathy. Spencer didn't bother to respond, and Kyla didn't give her a chance.
"Well everything is all set for tonight. I guess it's a good thing we are going to be at my place cause how can we watch movies if the powers out at your house?!" Kyla said with a smile before she plopped down onto a couch in the living room.
"Anyway. My mom is working late again tonight but she said you can sleep over. I even managed to swipe a bottle of vodka from her and I don't think she'll notice it's gone. We have Halloween one and twoâ€"but I think we should save them for lastâ€"The Nightmare before Christmasâ€"cause I really can't believe you've never seen itâ€"and Hocus Pocusâ€"Which we should watch second, really get us in the mood for Halloween!" Spencer's eyes widened a little before she looked down at her bare feet.
"About tonight, Kyla, I think I'm just going to skip it-"
"What's with you and Ashley?!" Kyla asked incredulously, throwing her hands up in the air. "Both of you need to get into the spirit of things! You and me," Kyla said with a broad grin. "We're going to have fun tonight. So you have to come!"
"You...talked to Ashley?" Spencer asked, eyes slowly moving up to look at the brunette.
"Yeah, I stopped by the diner. She looked dead on her feet. Course, she was trashed last night. She said she wasn't sure if she'd be able to make it tonight either. But I told her all she'd need is a quick cat nap and to head over after." Kyla looked proud of herself and Spencer's head was full of questions.
"So...she is coming tonight or she isn't?" Spencer shyly asked, not wanting to make her intentions known. Kyla watched the blush appear on the blonde's cheeks.
Earlier, when she stopped by the diner, Ashley seemed equally depressed.
Considering how they were both acting, Kyla guessed something had happened between the two after the party last night and decided that lying would definitely be the best choice.
"She said she wasn't." Kyla said, faking a sad smile, but glowing inside because of it. The tiny brunette knew just how deep Ashley's feelings were for Spencer, and if something had happened between the pair, Kyla thought it was her job to fix it. A simple lie to the both of them to get the girls together tonight should do the trick. "That's why you have to come over. I'll be so bored there by myself!"
More disheartened by the news that Ashley wouldn't be at Kyla's then she thought she'd be, she slowly nodded. She didn't want to be alone. Her father and aunt were working and Glen was off doing God knows what, Madison wasn't picking up her phone, and she was thoroughly bored sitting in the dark house by herself. She couldn't think of Ashley for a second longerâ€"or what took place between them last nightâ€"so she agreed.
"Sure, Ky, I'll come over."
"Greet!" Kyla cheered as she pushed off the couch. "Come over any time after eight and bring your PJs!" The brunette waved before she shut the door behind her, and Spencer wondered how the hell she was going to occupy herself for several more hours.
