This week has been so slow! Like can I just go on my date with Ashley already? Geeze! I just kept thinking about it: Ashley said it was a surprise. Way to keep me on my toes Ash!

“Are you ready for tomorrow?” Ashley asked leaning against my neighbor’s locker like she was so cool.

“More than ready.” I gave her a short kiss on the lips.

Friday 5:34PM

I hope I look okay. Ashley did tell me to wear something warm and comfortable. I’ve changed so many times. This is our first official date and I’m really nervous. Okay, no more changing this will have to do: dark blue skinny jeans, maroon top complemented with a black cardigan and silver sandals. I hope that sounds good. Applying my Burt’s Bees lip balm I heard my phone ringing; of course it was Ashley.

“Hey, are you ready?” The raspy-ness in her voice calmed me down.

“Yes, you can come by now.” I answered.

She giggled, “Okay I’ll be there in a minute.”

The doorbell rang and there Ashley was wearing black pants, a dark grey v-neck, denim jacket and black and white chucks. How could this Ashley look so good without even trying?

“You two have fun.” My dad said as I kissed him goodbye on the cheek and headed out the door with Ashley. I saw her eyeing me up and down, yeah that’s right Ash.

“You look…great.” She told me as she was opening the door to her car for me.

“Thank you. So do you.” I smiled at her. We were on the road and Ashley wouldn’t tell me where we were going even though I tried bribing her. I told her that I would flash her if she told me…I thought it would work. But it didn't. Twenty minutes later we arrive at the…beach?

“Ash, what are we doing at the beach?” I asked curiously.

“You’ll see.” Giving me her ‘Ashley’ smile. We walk a few feet until we pick a spot to sit down at. She pulls out a dark blue blanket from her picnic basket and placing it on the sand and two small pillows to sit on.

“You have to wear this.” Ashley handed me a white blindfold.

“You’re not gonna ditch me are you?” I laugh hearing no reply from her, only hearing the sound of the waves crashing. “Ashley?!”

Laughing, “Sorry I couldn’t resist.”
