“Spence, I-“ Before she said something.

“Wait. Can I go first?” I nodded yes. “I’m sorry for ignoring you for the past few days. I was just…confused I guess. What I was feeling, I was still coming to grips with because I’ve never fallen hard and fast. I don’t want to be one of those girls that you just ‘hit and quit’.” I was looking into her about to say something until the ferris wheel stopped.

“What’s going on?” I sounded panicked. We were at the top and if we fell or something it would be very painful.

“Um, we’ve stopped.” Spencer replied sounding so calm. How does she sound so calm in a situation like this? “I thought you weren’t afraid of anything.” She said smiling at me. Spencer asked what I was afraid of before school started. I, of course, said nothing but the truth is I was afraid of being left by someone I cared about that’s why I leave before I’m left. And my other fear was being at the top of some ride that’s completely stopped. Coincidence?

I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, and started talking: “Okay, I know that you’re scared. I’m scared too and I’m really scared right now because of this stupid ferris wheel. I know what you mean by falling hard and fast because it didn’t take long to realize that I was falling for you. I wanna make this work, no matter what. And if we ever get down from here.”

“Oh who knows when that’ll be.” I could tell she was smiling when she said that.

I whimpered, shaking my head in disappointment.

“Look, maybe you just need something to take your mind off it.” Spencer said. I could tell she was leaning closer to me because I felt her body weight shift.

“70ft in the air, what could possibly take my mind of that?” I asked with my eyes still closed.

Then I felt her lips on mine; her tongue searching for entry. It turned into us making out. Spencer’s lips were soft and gentle and when we were kissing, it felt like I was on cloud nine. I wrapped my arm around her waist, still kissing her not wanting to stop for air. And I didn’t even noticed the ride starting again
