Carlin." She said as she walked into the room and checked the tubes and bandages. She looked into my eyes and ears, checked my head. She looked like an older version of Spencer. Blonde and blue eyes. Well that's good to know that Spencer will age well. "Well everything looks like it's ok. Do you remember what happened?" I just shoook my head disappointed that I couldn't. "It's ok. You might have stress induced amnesia. Do you have any questions?"Ashley: "What's between my legs?" I whisper. She smiled at me. Probably thinking I was probably the only person who would ask that and not what happened first.
Dr Carlin: "It's a catheter. You've been in a coma and it's for when you had to micturate or in laymans terms urinate."
Ashley: "I was in a coma?"
Dr. Carlin: "Yes."
Ashley: "How long?"
Dr Carlin: "For three months."
Ashley: "WHAT?!!! I"m going to be so behind in school. Maybe I can take summer classes to catch up." I started thinking out loud. "What's the date today?"
Spencer: "The 10th."
Ashley: "Of?"
Spencer: "Oh right. I'm sorry, December."
Ashley: "Seriously, it's almost Christmas?" Then I realized I had to pee like a mother trucker. "I have to pee." I announce to the entire hospital.
Dr. Carlin: "Well you can just go, or we can remove the catheter and then you can do your business on your own."
Ashley: "I choose the second one. I would feel like a little kid if I were to pee in bed."
Dr. Carlin: "Ok I need everyone to get out of the room and give Ashley some privacy."
Ashley: "Does it hurt to have it removed?" I asked as everyone started to leave.
Dr. Carlin: "I'm not going to lie it does, but I'm sure the nurse will be as gentle as possible." She says patting my shoulder. Spencer was the last one leaving and she looked back at me.
Ashley: "Wait Spence.
