“Do you ever wonder why people can’t just be with the one they truly love without problems?” She said looking at the sky.

                “What do you mean baby?” I asked as I cuddled into her.

                “I mean like us…” She sighed and then looked at me, “I’m convinced that you are my soul mate and that I can be with you for the rest of my life with no problem and not care what other people say or do about it…” I lifted my head off her shoulder and looked into her crystal blue eyes and could tell something was wrong.

                “But?” I asked cautiously. She turned away and just looked at the stars. “Baby?” She looked at me again.

                “Ashley…” She cupped the side of my face and gave me a kiss, “We are never going to be truly happy though. Not with Aiden around. He is supposed to be my number one even though you are. He will always be our problem.” A tear rolled down her cheek and I wiped it away.

                “Then baby just end it. End your relationship with Aiden and there will be no problem.” She looked at me and had tears in her eyes again.

                “I can’t Ash.” She said burying her face in her hands.

                “Why Spence? Why can’t you just break up with him?” I pleaded.

                “Because…” She let out a deep breath, “I think I’m carrying his baby…”

                “What?” I looked at her confused and she just started crying.

                “He’s been trying to get me pregnant for months now…” She sobbed harder, “and today the fucker did it. He fucking came in me!” I was so shocked. I didn’t know what to do. I grabbed on to her as tight as I could. She cried on my shoulder and held me tight as well. “I’m so sorry baby! I’m so sorry!”

                “Wait what are you sorry about?” She just looked at me and shrugged her shoulders. “Baby you don’t have to be sorry about anything you understand me?” She nodded her head and rested on my shoulder. I rocked her gently and started humming a soft song to her. “Baby no matter what we are going to stick together.” I let out a deep sigh. “We are a family, you’re my family and you’re all I’ve got and nothing’s going to take you away from me.”

                “Promise?” She said holding me tighter.

                “I promise!” I gave her a kiss on the forehead and suggested we go inside. This girl has been through a rough day. We got to our bedroom and she got into her pajamas as did I and we both laid in bed just cuddling. I held her close so that she knew I was here and wasn’t going anywhere and she held on to me to make sure I didn’t.
