So it is officially the day of my soccer game and I guess now Aiden’s party. Its suppose to be a celebration of our soccer team beating Viewpoint High in the semi finals. I told Aiden that planning the party before we even won the games was bad luck but he stated that he had faith in us. I was also able to persuade my mom into giving me my phone back before the game. The only problem was I didn’t realize my battery was dead until I was half way to the soccer stadium.  It’s too late to dwell on it now I needed to focus on the game. I arrived thirty minutes early for our usual pregame warm ups. As the time for the game to start came upon us I noticed people were already packing into the stands. I looked out towards the parking lot and noticed my mom and dad waving franticly at me smile giving me thumbs up, while moving to take their seats. 

I quickly jogged over to give them a brief hug and they wished me a good game with a pat on the back. As I turn to rejoin my teammates muscular arms picked me up from behind giving me a tight bear hug.

“Aiden put me down now” I squealed “You now I hate when you do that”

I turned around to give him a proper hug

“Oh come on now you know you secretly love it” he whisper in my ear giving me a light kiss on the neck. At least that’s what I think he said because as we embraced I took notice over Aiden shoulder that Ashley was standing behind him back a few feet from us. She was wearing dark blue jeans and a light fitted jacket. Her hair was straightened today blowing back and forth with the breeze. I couldn’t see her eyes just yet due to her usual staring contest with the ground.

“You came” I said directed toward Ashley smiling before I had a chance to catch myself. Aiden released me and I walked over to greet her. To others it probably looked like I sprinted though, I was a little excited. Ashley glanced up and took in the sight of me coming at her and seemed to brace herself for the impact. I slowed up my pace though when I final got in front of her, putting my arms around her neck pulling her into a hug. I didn’t really think the whole hug thing through It was kind of a last second decision so I wasn’t quite sure if she was ok with it or not.

Ashley’s body tensed up at first but she seemed to relax into me her arms easily finding a home around my waist. God she smelled so good I couldn’t even think of anything that smelled similar, it was a distinct aroma that was Ashley’s alone.

We both pulled back a little but not leaving from the embrace we were in.

“Hey”

“Hi”

“I didn’t think you were going to come”

“Well umm… I wasn’t sure if you still wanted me to or not…….” She seemed to appear so fluster when talking to me it was the most adorable thing ever. “After my little text message and all” She shook her head back and forth quickly as to clear her head “I mean I can go if you want “

“Noo I want you here really please stay” I cut off her rambling and smiled, which she mirror with her own.

“Ok good I didn’t want to miss out on the whole good game butt pat thing anyways” She said smirking

That’s when I truly realized that her bottom lip was split and there was a bruise at the right corner of her mouth. I reached up gliding my finger a crossed it. Ashley’s eyes got really big in shock and pulled away from me.

“Aiden” She shouted quickly “I’m going to find our seats” she said turning to rush up the bleachers. I reached out to grab her hand to stop her but she dodged it and climbed the rows quickly.

“Babe I didn’t know you and Ashley were become good friends” Aiden stated

“Ya something like that” I responded take my eyes off the bleachers to look at him

“What happened to her …”

“You should hurry up and get out there Spence”

I looked passed Aiden to see my teammates signaling for me to join them while Madison was mouthing what appeared to be hurry the fuck up.

“We can talk after the game at the party” he said giving me a light shoving in the fields’ direction

“Ya the party” I shouted back over my shoulder running to the bench that held my teammates.

“About time Spence I was about to go over there and drag your ass over here“ Madison said as we both took our position at the middle of the field awaiting the whistle to be blown.  I looked over one last time at the fans and noticed two people who were clearly arguing, back off standing sort of behind the bleachers. And there was no doubt that those two were Ashley and Aiden, the only question left was what were they fighting about.
