There she stands, locket in tow cascading down from her neck with the engravings of two former loved ones on the back but no one knew, and no one shall due to the departure of her loved one. She played with the locket in her fingers tracing the letter engravings. She never told and still does not have the will to for it brings her too many regretful memories that haunt her every hour of darkness.

She wishes she could tell the one girl that she lets to some extent into her life but even then she has the feeling of dread that she will be discarded by her best friend.

So therefore the young girl tucked her locket under her shirt and walked off to her first block class like she does every day, trying to be just another face in the crowd that no one pays attention to. She blends in well, only wearing her usual colors of clothing consisting of grey, brown, or black shirts or hoodies and her basic jeans with converse matching her top. She releases her text books onto her elderly desk that was littered with graffiti pencil markings by unappreciative undergraduates that could get a practical education yet choose otherwise. She silently glided into her chair which is the second in the row; she would rather one toward the back where the instructor scarcely calls on anyone. Although that is not entirely true; he does request one teenager to recite a paragraph every so often and she happens to sits in the row over from her and three seats behind; he must enjoy the manner she converses in.

As history class had gradually progressed on the teacher had in fact called on the girl that sits behind her to read; she listened intently to the sound of her voice memorizing it as if she shall never listen to it once more; for she knew there was something incredibly extraordinary concerning this girl and she wanted to recall everything she possibly could about this young woman.

“Do you know her name Ashley?” She heard someone faintly request in the deafening class; she was curious as to whom the question referred to.

“Yes, her name is Spencer,” The girl with the magnificent voice sang brilliantly and Spencer began to question why they were discussing something concerning her.

“You like Spencer, don’t you Robby?” The other girl’s voice taunted. Immediately Spencer comprehended, she had been toiling with Robert on some worksheets heir teacher gave them the past couple of weeks; but she knew exceptionally well that Robert was not attracted to her; moreover he was not Spencer’s ‘type’ anyway. He was just being polite since she did not work with anyone in class. She twisted somewhat and glanced back to look at Ashley; and watched as the girl smiled to herself and looked intently out the window; an occurrence that she saw her do frequently.

“Crap, she glanced back here,” The menacing girl announced acknowledging Spencer’s gaze; and she smile and turned back around to face toward the front of the class once again.

“She knows I don’t like her,” Robert argued making Spencer laugh to herself of how childish the girl was being.

“Ashley, what do you suppose?” The harassing girl asked her; leading Spencer to turn around once more to hear Ashley’s words more clearly.

“Clearly, if he declares he is not fond of her in that manner, then you ought to accept that as the truth,” Ashley declared gazing directly at her and grinned; Spencer blushed due to the fact she was caught eavesdropping on someone else’s conversation.

As class ended Spencer rose to leave except she ended up hitting her books leading them to plummet toward the floor leaving her embarrassed by the obnoxious guys that left snickering because of her clumsiness. As she was about to bend down to reclaim her books she perceived that someone had already beat her to it, Ashley picked up her books and handed them to her. Spencer had whispered a thank you, and Ashley nodded.

“Where are you departing toward?” Ashley asked pleasantly whilst smiling contentedly as the two ambled out of the uninhabited schoolroom.

“Well currently, I’m merely going to my locker to put my books away because I have gym next,” Spencer stammered nervously; this girl had an effect on her.

Ashley knew she was going to her locker; seeing as she did passed by her about every day when she was strolling to science but she wanted to sound normal and not like she was stalking the girl.

“That’s cool. I’m just going to science, I had gym last semester,” Spencer nodded in understanding as they both made their way down the stairs.

The girls both arrived at Spencer’s locker and Ashley was about to continue on to science when Spencer grabbed her arm.

“I was just wondering if you liked drama,” Spencer anxiously spoke.

“As in similar to high school drama? I’m not extremely fond of drama…” Ashley said with a chuckle.

“No, I mean the club after school; I think you maybe should come sometime,” She said worried that her proposal was going to get shot down.

“Well yeah, I guess I could drop by one day,” Ashley replied while Spencer gleamed.

“Cool, it’s after school today in the auditorium if you want to go,” Spencer shrugged.

“Sure, I can go. So see you after school then,” Spencer nodded and finally let Ashley’s hand go.

Both girls were in a blissful state of mind due to the fact that they would both see one another again today, although neither of them realized what the other had felt. Unknown to both of them; they would soon fund out.

The day came and went and soon drama students gathered in the auditorium to practice some of their skits while new comers sat back and watched them perform.

Ashley entered looking a bit lost until she had spotted Spencer standing awkwardly holding her script she was just about to walk up to her while her friend Kelly engulfed her in a hug.

“You finally came!” The girl cheered, “I knew you would.”

“You never asked me to; you realize that don’t you?” Ashley said while Kelly ended her restrain.

“Well I shouldn’t have to ask you should just visit sometimes, don’t be a stranger!” Kelly ordered laughing and walked off to find her partner.
