Waiting a minute, I look back towards her. Again, her focus is on the teacher. Thank god.
"So.... what's up with Spencer?" Madison nudges me.
"Nothing."
"Oh come on. You two have a bunch of classes together. You're telling me you never interact?"
Adjusting myself on the hood of my car, I answer her. "We do sometimes."
"Mhm. Ok. Sure."
"Madds..."
"No really. I believe you." I raise my eyebrow. "She's friends with almost everyone. I can see how she wouldn't talk to you. It's not like your one of her best friends."
"Well, thank you for reminding me." Sarcasim is dripping from every word.
A small smile forms at the edge of Madisons mouth. "I'm sorry. I really am." She says sincerly, while earning a head tilt from me.
"For what?"
"Spencer."
"What do you mean?"
"It's horrible wanting someone that seems so impossible for you to ever be with."
"It's ok. I've learned to deal with it."
"I don't know how you do it, Ash."
"Neither do I." I chuckle, trying to lighten the mood and succed. "But, I'd rather have her as a friend than nothing, you know?"
"Yeah, I know. Believe me I know."
