Chapter 5…

“Hey…you alright?”

Spencer lifted her head slowly off the cold metal of the lunch tables.

“Umm…Aiden?”

“That’s me.” He gave her a reassuring smile.

He’s not that bad…when he’s fully clothed.

Aiden blushed. “Uhmm…so I was sent out here to take you home?”

“Well…I mean…I was waiting on some one but…wait, sent?”

“Yeah.”

“By, who?”

“I’m not sure you’re in any state of mind for small talk, Spence.”

“Oookay? Umm…well…since you seem to know so much about me…what am I in the sate mind for?” she cocked an eye brow. He just let it go and picked Spencer up from the bench, cradling her carefully against his chest. “I swear to god if you cop a feel…” her mind slipped as Aiden pulled her closer to his chest. He smirked.

“Yeah I thought so.”

What an ass…I mean really who does he think he is?

“Aiden Dennison, at your service.” He didn’t look at Spencer; he simply placed her into the front seat of his Ford, buckled her in, and retreated to the driver’s side. Wasting no time at all he started the engine and left the school parking lot.

They drove for about 20 minutes till they were only a few blocks from Spencer’s house.

“I’m sorry.” Aiden turned to her, confused.

“About what?” his attention drifted back and forth between Spencer and the road in front of him.

“For being a bitch…I could have been a little nicer.”  He grinned at her words.

“Ookay…a lot nicer.”

Thanks for rubbing it in.

“For the record I take you completely seriously, & your little tough girl act is a bit of a turn off…but yeah, no problem, and thank you.”

She was dumb founded for the second time in half an hour.

“Alright so I lied its totally adorable…but you get where I’m coming from.”  His actions then turned completely towards the road. Spencer’s dad was leaving in what seemed to be a more than pissed off mood.  Aiden caught a glimpse the poor girls face out of the corner of his eye…she was fighting back a stray tear. Her home situation obviously bothered her, if not completely aggravated her.

He drove past Spencer’s house. She didn’t seem to care. As a matter of fact, she would much rather be with Ayden at that point, as she saw her mother in the kitchen window, throwing back a tiny cup almost completely down her through

“Alright, so I’m gonna take you to my house. Don’t worry, I mean I’m sure sleep isn’t one of your strong points.” His genuine smile was starting to grow on Spencer. So that time she returned the favor. “Good to know we have an understanding then.” He chuckled.

Spencer sat, legs flailing, atop a granite counter top. She was amazed.
