"I love you." Oh hell to the nizzo!
"Uhhh yeah. Right. Bye." I quickly hung up and sighed deeply. I did not see that one comming.
"Did he just tell you he loves you?" I was met with Ashley's sad eyes.
"Yeah." I softly admitted.
"So are you still going to break up with him?" Duh!
"Of course. Why would you even ask?"
"Well, since he is your best friend, I thought you would feel sorry for him and not do it."
"I do feel sorry, but I gotta do what I gotta do." She smiled.
"That's my girl."
We got interupted by a knock on my door. "Famous Carlin pecan pie delivery!" was shouted through the now opening door. All three of us laughed. My dad set a tray in front of us with two pieces of pie and two glasses of milk. Ashley took a bit of the pie and groaned out "Mmmm" as soon as it was in her mouth. We laughed again.
"Well, I'm glad this pie is living up to it's name." My dad chucked.
"Oh yeah it is." Ashley glazed over at my clock and jumped off the bed. "Oh wow it's late. I should really get going."
"You want me to put it in a container so you can take the pie home?"
"Yes. That was be great. I hate to leave the amazingly delicious pie here with out finishing it. It would be a sin!"Once again, Ashley managed to get a laughed out of the two of us.
Damn it. What am I going to say to Aiden? I had all night to think about it and now it's time, but I still don't know how to break it to him. I'm out here at the school courtyard anxiously waiting for him to show up. Shit. Shit. Shit. Here he comes.
"Hey babe." He greeted with a smile, leaning in for a kiss.
"Hi." I turned my head giving him my cheek. He backed away with "confused" written all over his sad little face.
